Maryland tests students in Grade 3; however, Moogie currently begins with Grade 4. This is ideal if you feel your students are ready to be pushed a little further ahead than they need to go.

Mathematics Grade 5 MSA

Maryland Content Standards	Corresponding Strand, Moogie on the Net, Grades 4 or 6*
Knowledge of Algebra, Patterns, or Functions	Algebra, Patterns & Functions (2 separate strands)
Knowledge of Geometry	Geometry
Knowledge of Measurement	Measurement
Knowledge of Statistics	Data Analysis
Knowledge of Probability	Data Analysis
Knowledge of Number Relationships or Computation	Numbers & Relations, Rounding & Estimating (2 strands)

*Note: Moogie on the Net offers standards for Grades 4 and 6, but not specifically for Grade 5 when MSA Assessments are given. Depending on the strengths of your students, you can use Moogie Grade 4 for remediation and/or Grade 6 to push students just a little further than they need to go. Please Note: Moogie on the Net Grade 4 also offers a strand of "Problem Solving" which you may find quite useful with your students.

It's not required for you, but you may want to challenge your students with Moogie on the Net Grade 10
